Nineteen Years of Matrimony

Today is my 19th Wedding Anniversary. My husband and I butt heads and lock horns as much as any other couple, but I love him with every molecule in my being. Ours was a whirlwind romance. I met him on New Years Eve. We were engaged on Valentine’s Day. We were married in October of the same year.

I had been married to him for two months before I had known him for a year. The heart knows love when it’s presented. Love is the easy part. The rest of the relationship requires sacrifice, dedication, patience, compromise, humor, and compassion. We’ve been doing all of that for the past 19 years.

Today’s Ozarks Maven is dedicated to my husband, Jim. He supports my quirky creative eccentricities with as much amiability as possible. He may not always understand me, but he does his best to help me realize my dreams anyway. That’s love.
