Changes on the Wind: Moving Day is Approaching

I don't do well with sudden changes. I need time to process and wrap my brain around details before I'm comfortable with new developments. This is happening with my job right now.
I've known for a few months that the building in which I work was for sale. I saw a few people come over and tour the facility. I heard comments about knocking down walls and paving the front lawn. The entire time, I fervently hoped the place would never sell. If we didn't sell it, we could stay.

Then it happened. A small group of people arrived and were serious. They bought it. The real estate closing on my building is next Thursday. My last day of business in the location where I've been working for nearly seventeen years is this Thursday. We'll close the department the following week to pack and move.
A few of us are moving to my agency's main office where we'll have offices in the basement. Our crew will work out of a building a couple of blocks from there. I took a little field trip over to the main building last week to poke around a bit. I didn't remember much about the basement since I hadn't been there in probably close to ten years. What I found was a typical basement that's a little dark and spooky. It's going to take some love to make it comfortable, but we can do that.
Moving is a task I absolutely loathe. Of course, I'm grown and will do it anyway, regardless of how unpleasant I find it. I've already begun packing, so I won't be rushed next week. Thankfully, I'm not moving by myself. We are a team, and I know the guys will help me as much if not more than I help them.
Losing an awesome workspace isn't the only sad part; being separated from the crew will be strange. I talk to those guys every day. We visit as we fill our coffee mugs and predict how our days will progress. We tell cute stories about the antics of our kids or grandkids. Most of all, we laugh together. I'll miss that camaraderie.
This move will signal the beginning of a new adventure. Instead of working in a brown metal building, I'll be spending my days in a huge, historic block building with crown molding and a marble staircase. There are dozens of employees, far more than the ten my site houses. The main office staff seem like nice people. I've always liked the main office. I just never thought I would work there.
I suppose this hammers home the old theory that the only thing you can really count on is change.
Good vibes are most appreciated.
