“Warm Summer Sun” by Mark Twain Eases My Mourning Heart

A dear family friend passed away over the weekend. He was a talented young man with enormous potential. He was creative, funny, intelligent, witty, and kind. His passing was sudden and shocking.

I apologize for not being as upbeat as normal, but I don’t have any levity in me right now. Because my heart is full of loss and grief, I chose a poem for today’s post. It is brief and powerful, as was my friend’s life. May he rest in peace.

Warm Summer Sun By Mark Twain

Warm summer sun, Shine kindly here, Warm southern wind, Blow softly here. Green sod above, Lie light, lie light. Good night, dear heart, Good night, good night. Thank you for reading Ozarks Maven!
