Upcoming Author Spotlight on Terry Zahniser McDermid

I’m excited to announce that I’m bringing back Ozarks Maven’s Author Spotlight this week. Now that the holidays are over, we tend to have a little more time for fun things like interviews. I’ll be spotlighting the amazing Terry Zahniser McDermid on Thursday, January 30, 2020. You can check out her website here https://tessamcdermid.com/.

I call Terry amazing because she’s had publications in all sorts of genres such as romance, religion, and education to name a few. She’s also one of my mentors. I’ve learned more about writing from this wonderful lady than I learned my entire college career. To put that in perspective for you, I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.

She has taught several different writing classes and workshops in addition to elementary school. She currently teaches a memoir writing class called “Writing Your Life Story.” She once told a class she was teaching in which I was enrolled, “No one is going to fall out of sky and beg to publish your work. You must get it in front of them to they can read it first.”

She encourages other writers, offers wisdom garnered from her vast experience, and is a valued member of our local writing community. She isn’t just a well-published and award-winning writer, though. She is also a pastor and Mary Kay consultant. Terry is always helping people. She even officiated at my sister’s wedding, which was beautiful.

I’m honored to call Terry Zahniser McDermid my friend, and you can read her interview right here on Ozarks Maven this Thursday, January 30, 2020. In the meantime, I hope you’ll check out her books. I really love them.
