Sometimes a Trip to the Doctor's Office is Pleasant

You're getting Ozarks Maven early this week due my schedule for next several days. There will be no post on Monday.

Sometimes a trip to the doctor's office can be pleasant, even uplifting. I used to dread it, but as someone with a chronic health condition, I resigned myself to going twice a year as one of those chores I must do in order to live -- like washing dishes.

I visited the doctor's office last Friday for my routine tests. I saw a physician's assistant who I've seen a few times before. She was pleasant and chatted with me as she looked over the log of numbers I am forced to track. She was looking in my ears when she mentioned my T-shirt, which had a graphic of a ghost reading a book in front of a huge bookshelf.

She asked me what I liked to read, so I told her. Then I explained how my second paranormal romantic suspense novel is nearly ready for the editor, and my first one, Sally's Secret Legacy, is being featured in a book club this month. Being featured in the book club is a HUGE blessing. She asked if it was on Kindle Unlimited, which it is. I gave her one of my new business cards, which has QR codes for both of my books on the back. She seemed happy to have it and wished me well as she left the room.

When the nurse returned to give me my new instructions for my medication changes, she told me that were all looking up my books on Amazon in the back office. I truly adore those ladies at my doctor's office, and I'm thrilled they're looking at my books whether they order one or not. Finding a great medical team is another big blessing.

My doctor's office has an online portal where I can log in and see test results, make appointments, and pay my bills. Test results are uploaded as soon as they are available, so sometimes I see them before the doctor views them. I'm thrilled to say that most of my results were fantastic. I still have a little work to do with my anemia, but the rest looked great.

The right people make what could be a terrible chore something that I enjoy. Well, except for the whole blood draw thing, but nothing is perfect.

In a world where it's so easy to get caught up in hate, pain, and politics, I choose to concentrate on the good things in my life. My blessings.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Glad to hear you had a pleasant experience. Red meat is a good way to add iron to your diet naturally. :-)

I eat a great deal of red meat. It's my favorite. I also try to remember to take my iron supplement, but it's hit and miss.

Thank you for reading Ozarks Maven!
