I’m feeling a little under the weather today. The crud is making its away around our office. One coworker was out for two days and another one is out today. I had my flu shot, so I hope to be able to remain functional and productive. As of right now, I have no fever. I just feel unwell.
There are so many horrible illnesses going around right now. Corona Virus is getting world-wide attention, but my area has flu, mumps, measles, and lots of colds. My doctor’s office was packed with pale people wearing masks when I went in for my blood work a couple weeks ago. I actually saw one poor man faint while walking to the scale.
The simplest preventive action to keep from getting sick is to wash hands often. I wash my hands several times a day. I also use hand sanitizer between washings. I carry a small bottle in my purse and keep a big bottle on my desk. Clean hands only take me so far, though. I can’t control the inconsiderate actions of those around me.
I get so aggravated at people who don’t cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze. I counted six people who coughed without covering their mouths in the grocery store last weekend. I don’t want whatever germs and viruses others have floating around inside their bodies. My blood has enough going on in its own right.
For now, I’m drinking lots of water and herbal tea. I’m eating apples, oranges, and chicken soup. I’m contemplating a trip to the drug store for some Zicam or Oscillococcinum. It wouldn’t hurt anything and might actually help. I’m headed to bed early tonight and hope a nice long sleep will help me shake this crud.
I have a busy weekend ahead of me, and I don’t want to miss any of it. Therefore, I’m taking care of myself now. Rest and good food can make a huge difference. I hope it does the trick for me.
