A Weekend for the Books

I had a fabulous book signing for Moonbeams and Ashes at ABC Books in Springfield, Missouri last Saturday. I was one of five authors participating in the event, and I had a great time. I shared a table with Bestselling Author J.C. Fields, and his display was as impressive as you would imagine. Authors Shirley McCann, V.J. Shultz, and Sage Hunter rounded out our little group, and we set up in a cozy corner of the bookstore to showcase our books.

Our time together was fun, and we all enjoyed ABC Books' hospitality. I'm happy to say that Moonbeams and Ashes is now available there along with dozens of other books written by local authors. I was thrilled to see so many books by people I know. If you know me at all, you know I spent over $50.00 during the event and added to my private library.

Speaking of selling books, my publisher made some changes to my Amazon listing after I messed it up a couple weeks ago. Whatever she did, I'm eternally grateful because Moonbeams and Ashes is now available on Barnes and Noble's website! It wasn't there before, and I was flabbergasted when I found it.

That means I'm able to participate in an upcoming Barnes and Noble book signing. A group from Sleuths' Ink Mystery Writers, my mystery group, will be having a multi-author book signing on August 19, 2023 at their local Barnes and Noble, which is located at 3055 South Glenstone Avenue in Springfield, Missouri. We'll be signing our books from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. I will tell you more about closer to the event. I would love to see everyone there!

I have more exciting book news. The most exciting news! I submitted my paranormal romantic suspense novel, Sally's Secret Legacy, to my publisher, and she has already begun work on it. In case that title sounds familiar, it should. This is the book that is currently available on Kindle Vella, and all 45 episodes have been posted. A small amount of editing was done after Vella publication during my publication preparations.

Not everyone wants to read a book in Vella form. No, I'm not cheating. Amazon allows authors to publish completed Vella works in different formats after the last episode has been posted for at least 30 days. It takes time to publish a book, even with a publisher who is as quick as mine.

I've been discussing covers with my publisher this evening. I need to gather some information for her and answer a slew of questions, but things are in motion. I'm not sure of a release date, but it will definitely be available by Christmas. I'm so ready to hold that book in my hands. It's been too long coming.

I am so excited about publishing this book! I've been working on it for several years. It's been through a dozen or so critiques, a professional editor, and my beta readers. I've written, edited, and rewritten so many times, I feel like I'm in the book. I'll let you know when I have more information.

Speaking of books, my friends Teirney James and Lori Robinett have teamed up with some other authors present a Christmas in July Book Club. You can sign up, learn interesting things about these authors, and score some great deals. I'll certainly be purchasing a few books there. You can even register to win a $50.00 Amazon gift card. I signed up. Here's the link if you're interested:
