I’m having my very first book signing October 26, 2019 at the Joplin Public Library. I will be there as a participant in Joplin Writers’ Faire from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with many other great authors. I’m positively giddy!
I’ll be signing and selling three books. I’ll have Chicken Soup for the Soul: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Anthology 2019 Sleuths’ Ink Mystery Writers, and Legends: Passion Pages. I have a story in each of them.
I know it seems odd to have a book signing featuring books in which I’m a contributor and not the sole author, but I’ve seen it done before. I want the world to read the words of my heart, and I think this is a good step in accomplishing that goal.
A question I’m often asked is, “When is your novel coming out?”
Well, I had planned to pursue Indie publishing and release it early next year. That plan changed when a literary agent requested my manuscript. I feel like I need to explore this traditional route before proceeding. It will take a little while to determine if the agent and I are a good fit and if any contract offered is amicable.
Unknown future notwithstanding, I’m honored to be a part of this year’s Christmas book from Chicken Soup for the Soul. My memoir included in the book is entitled “Dollhouse,” which is a story from my early childhood. It gives my readers a glimpse into the wonderful relationship I enjoyed with Grandma P. I owe a large part of my creativity to her. I lost her far too soon, but I never forgot the lessons she taught me.
Joplin Writers’ Faire is going to be a fun event, and I sincerely hope you can attend if you’re in the area. Many of my amazing writer friends will be there with their labors of love. I will be in very good company, indeed.
If you can’t attend the event and would like to purchase one or all of the books I’m selling, you can order them from Amazon. They won’t be signed, but you can still read all of the fabulous stories.
